The 2024 National Indian Child Care Association National Conference will bring together hundreds of Tribal child care professionals, providers, teachers, and educators supporting American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian children to learn, share, and grow. This year, our theme "Roots and Wings: Cultivating Courage and Uplifting Tribal Child Care" draws on the powerful imagery of "roots," symbolizing the deep cultural and ancestral foundations that Native American communities are built upon, and "wings," representing the empowerment, growth, and future aspirations of children under your care. It underscores the importance of nurturing a strong cultural identity while providing the tools and opportunities for the next generation to soar. The theme also implicitly touches on the holistic approach to wellness and healing, suggesting a journey that is grounded in tradition yet forward-looking. We will have sessions focused on managing behaviors that challenge us, wellness and self-care, indoor/outdoor play, school-age care, program planning and administration, and much, much more! The content of this event will be valuable for Tribal leaders, Tribal administrators, program directors/managers, center directors, teachers, providers, and other early childhood professionals who work with Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian children and families. The Conference will begin with a pre-training on September 9, 2024.
